Not that I want him to go anytime soon, but Bob Sheppard comes to mind.

Bob Sheppard's plaque was unveiled in 2000.

It's getting too crowded out there. It's time to stop building monuments and retiring numbers.

Andy, you must be a Mets fan. Our embarrassment of riches can be hard to swallow from the outside looking in.

At this point, I think that retiring numbers is something that the Yanks might have to stop doing. Or MLB can allow us to use 3 digit numbers or letters. Otherwise 1-10 are all done because Jeter's 2 and Torre's 6 should be hung up. Plaques and monuments can continue being erected to show the world what great baseball is and how we appreciate those players.

I kind of go along with Mike..Give a plaque and also 'Honor" numbers But retirement should be saved for the "SPECIAL" Yankees..Joe Torre, Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera..

I THINK JOE TORRE SHOULD BE THE NEXT YANKEE TO BE INDUCTED INTO MONUMENT PARK. HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST MANAGERS IN YANKEES HISTORY. 12 POST SEASON APPEARANCES,4 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS AND 6 PENNANTS ('96,'98,'99,2000,2001,2003).
