I was 2 1/2 years old. We had to leave early because the crowd noise scared me. Funny because I am now adamant about never leaving early!

Old Timers day 1965. I was 9..No Mickey,,Whitey Ford vs Luis Tiant started..Joe Pepitone hit 2 Home Runs..Yankees won in the bottom of the 9th on a Ray Barker double....The two things i remember the most was how big the Stadium was..Also when we were leaving.my brother and I were pushing each other, and My brother tripped in two older ladies..They were Mrs Lou Gehrig and Mrs Babe Ruth....Man did we get yelled at by the security people,

Growing up withing walking distance of the staduim, I have been privilged to witness many great moments. But, what I remember most fondly and cannot find any info on are the "pre-game activites", such as egg throwing contests between players, that were played prior to certain night games (for some reason I think they were on tuedays).  I also seem to think they were always between the Yankess and Boston.  Help!

I'm 22 years old and a Die hard Yankee fan. Yankee baseball is the religion in my family and I will never forget my first game.  I was 9 and my father woke me up to tell me to grab my glove and put on my jeter shirt b/c we were going to the big ballpark in the bronx. I was pumped, i remember he got us box seats and he would not let me look down any other tunnel until we got to ours, he said don't cheat yourself of small glimpses of the greenest gr**** in the world just wait for it.  Well, i did wait and it didn't dissapoint. I remember walking through that tunnel and all i could smell was fresh air and peanuts and all I heard was the crack of the bat (batting practice). Your first glimpse of the stadium from inside is so overwhelming.  We went to monument park and he explained all the numbers and plaques. We got to our seats and I was right behind Tino. They played and beat the Tigers that day. And I was also introduced to the playing of Frank Sinatra's New York, New York after a Yankee Win. I will never forget that day.

Thanks Dad.
