Just ask fans in any other baseball city who hate the Red Sox fans much more than they ever hated Yankee fans.

Actually, John, you are wrong. I'm a Sox fan living in Cleveland and people here hate Yankee fans more, and this is despite the fact that stole a championship from Cleveland when they beat the Tribe in the ALCS after being down 3-1. I went to the Sox-Indians game last Monday and saw the Sox come back in the late innings for the win. I overheard two Indians fans after the game complaining about all the Sox fans in the stadium, but they both agreed that you Yankee fans were worse. And who can blame them with Hank shooting his foul, uneducated mouth off in the papers all the time, disgracing the organization with thankless, disrespectful words for Joe Torre, a true baseball gentleman, and with incessant Yankee fan arrogance despite years of $200 million plus payrolls and no recent championship to show for it.

As a Sox fan, I will agree there are a gazillion more of us around than there used to be; thousands have jumped on the bandwagon. But as a Sox fan for 20+ years, I have to disgaree that Sox fans are more annoying than Yankee fans ever were though. I don't know any Sox fan who calls their Yankee friends to tell them the Sox won and jam it in their Yankee-fan friends faces... that happened to me more than I care to remember before '04. Thankfully it's stopped.  Yankee fans are simply more humble now.

Tons of Bandwagon fans. I mean I know there are die hard sox fans b/c I lived in boston for 4 years but after they won everyone was a fan. And now the rivalry is actually a rivalry. Everyone knows that they can win, so the Yankees must win the world series again before they do. They have won 1 too many since 04
